Financial Assistance
SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL AID

Financial assistance is available to help you finance your graduate education at the Rockland Graduate Campus of Long Island University. If you wish to be considered for any scholarship award and/or financial assistance, please complete the following steps in a timely manner:

  1. File your 2009-2010 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the Summer 2009, Fall 2009 and Spring 2010 semesters. Please note that our academic and financial aid year begins in the Summer semester which begins in May. You can fill out the paper FAFSA application (available in our Student Services Center near the vending machines in our main lobby area), or online at www.fafsa.ed.gov for faster processing. Please note that the FAFSA is submitted directly to the federal government. Please use our LIU Brookville school code: 002751.
  2. If you have already submitted the FAFSA and we haven't received it, please go to www.fafsa.ed.gov, look at FAFSA Follow-up 3, then add the LIU Brookville school code #002751 and submit it online.
  3. If you are a new student or a returning student, please submit all of your documents to our Admissions Office so that you can become accepted. Note: your scholarship and/or financial assistance will not be awarded until you have been accepted to the University.
  4. If you are applying for a scholarship award which requires a separate application, please contact the Admissions Office to make arrangements to complete the application and provide the supporting documentation. The listing of our scholarships is available in our Scholarships For Professionals Brochure or online at www.liu.edu/rockland under Financial Aid and Scholarships. Please note that academic awards do not require an application.
  5. Complete the new Request for Financial Assistance form and return it to the Main Office as soon as possible.

If you wish to receive educational loans, you must complete the additional following steps:

  1. Complete your Federal Direct Loan Entrance Counseling Interview for Subsidized/Unsubsidized loans at www.dlssonline.com . Please use our LIU school code: 002751-00: G02751.

After you have completed the above steps, you will be sent a Financial Aid Award letter from our Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus Financial Aid Office. Pharmacy students will be sent a Financial Aid Award letter from our Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus. Please note that your eligibility is based on your FAFSA information and your Eligible Family Contribution (EFC) Code is determined by the federal government.

When you receive your financial aid award letter, please review it carefully. If you wish to make any changes to your award, please note them on your award letter and return the signed and appropriately noted award letter to the C.W. Post Campus Financial Aid Office in the envelope provided. Pharmacy students should return it to the Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus. If you wish to receive financial aid for the Summer semester and it is not listed on your award letter, you must request the aid for that semester, indicate the amount that you require, sign the award letter, make a copy for your own records, and return it directly to the C.W. Post Campus Financial Aid Office. Pharmacy students follow the same process, but return the letter to the Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus. We recommend that you file your FAFSA by March 1st for all semesters.
